Graduation Celebrations

We celebrated the graduations of 6 students

What an honor it is for us to celebrate our 3 college graduates and 3 high school graduates. Join us in congratulating Mykayla graduating from the University of Kentucky, Izabel from Berea College, Jimmy from Virginia Tech, Malipo from Frederick Douglas High School, Ivan from STEAM Academy, and Juan from Bryan Station High School. We have featured these students and their stories on our social media pages, please check those out!

Summer Interns

We are so excited to welcome 6 student summer interns.

Welcome our interns! We have Asher, Luis and Merveille helping out on the Common Good side with programming and keeping things fun and running smoothly for our summer fun. We also have Cristian, Shammah and Michele helping out at Matchstick Goods. They are bringing new ideas and fresh spins on our products. Right now they are working on pet bowls! We feel blessed to have them in our office this summer and they've been a huge help.

COVID Relief

We support our community by providing support.

Starting in April 2020 we began checking in on our families and providing food and necessities. Every other week we called to check-in and then we made deliveries providing the needs we discussed with each family. We have provided just over $30,000 of relief funds for our families. This would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our supporters and the Blue Grass Community Foundation, who gave us two grants for our COVID relief efforts.

Matchstick Goods hires Izabel

We welcomed a new employee at Matchstick Goods in December 2020.

As Matchstick Goods continues to ramp up and live into its mission we are happy to announce the return of a Common Good graduate, Izabel Gomez. Izabel joins Jason, the Director, to continue creating custom ceramic designs. As we move through 2021 we hope to bring on more student employees. Be sure to check out their Facebook page to see what new designs they are offering, like the most recent Kentucky key holder.
